The Pool House

The creation of an outdoor pool house for an endless pool may sound like a straightforward project, but it presented several challenges that required careful planning and creativity, especially with a tight budget and the need to maintain positive relationships with the neighbours. One of the key considerations was ensuring that the height at the fence line remained within acceptable limits, as any increase in elevation could potentially cause privacy concerns or conflicts with the neighbouring properties. We carefully designed the structure to respect the existing lines of sight and to keep the overall height discreet, ensuring it blended harmoniously with its surroundings.A key element of the design was the addition of a green roof, which not only helped to ‘beautify’ the building and make it feel more integrated into the landscape but also contributed to its sustainability. The green roof helped soften the structure’s presence, turning it into a feature that enhanced the natural environment rather than dominating it.In the end, the design was a success on all fronts. The neighbours were pleased with the discreet and environmentally conscious approach, and the client was thrilled with the result. It's always rewarding when a project creates a sense of harmony, and in this case, both the client and the community came away happy.
