Hollydale

The complexities of this site, located on a curve with tapering gardens was not helped by an inadequate survey and initial design undertaken by an alternative architectural practice. On the dissatisfaction of the client, we took over this project and reconfigured it, fixed issues with boundary lines and resolved spatial and structural issues with the initial design. We then applied out creative knowledge of permitted development and planning to upgrade every aspect of the project, its materiality and glazing. We stole views towards London by removing corners. We inserted and intersected skylights at different levels. We reconfigured the flow through the house from bedrooms to social spaces. All these redesigned elements transformed the project and as a result we added a unique atmosphere to this house perfect for our client. The Interior designed by chosen by the client throughout the house with our consultation. We curated the architecture in such a way that it would host our client’s personality and varied requirements as well as to compliment the themes and briefs for each of the spaces.
